Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide on some pretty shoaling fish for my tank.

The only thing is that I need something of a reasonable size (maybe 2 inches) as I have large angels and a couple of medium sized cichlids (4inches) which meant I had to give my neons away!

I would like something quite bright if possible, like small rainbows or something.

What kind of cichlids? I second the rummynoses; I have them and they're great. Also how about a few swordtails... they're colorful and much more personable. Rummynoses are pretty shy; at least mine are.

If your tanks a decent size, you could get some bleeding heart tetras or some congo tetras...

Rasboras are a pretty schooling fish, and as I recall they go well w/angels.

glofish ( genetically modified danios) are some of the brightest cheapest schooling fish.
im sure their are brighter fish than glofish but nothings going touch it for $3 a piece.

Emperor Tetra or Black Neon Tetra pretty much most Tetras of somesort will fit the bill. My Congo Tetras don't seem to school any more (they graduated  ) when they were smaller they did (maybe they're too cool for school? ).

I'd go with the Rummy Noses. We've a got a shoal of 12 and they aren't at all shy and they look great!

Rummy Noses are great but I'd try some Dwarf Neon Rainbows if you can (the scientific name is slipping on me right now) but they have an amazing blue coloring with red fins, truly a sight to behold when in good condition.

I agree with rummy nose tetras or some dwarf neon rainbows. Both are beautiful to watch and add great colour to a tank.

I'll second rummynose as a great schooling fish. How about Nannostomus sp. "coral red"? I'm considering these ATM but they're pretty pricey. Beautiful fish though if you can find them.
