Hi Everyone,

I have just ordered all the stuff I need to start using pressurized Co2, I cant decide which of my 2 main tanks would benifit from it more? I will list spec of both tanks below and would like to know which tank is more in need of the pressurized Co2.

Tank in my front room is 200L and has 2 30W T8 lights (recent picture of this tank below)

Tank in the back room is 100L and at the moment has a double 39W T5 (home made) lighting unit, at the moment I am only running 1 39W T5 bulb on this tank as running the 2 bulbs was a bit much, can easily put the second bulb back in (the picture of this tank below)

At the moment I dose both tanks with TPN+ and Excel daily, the lighting on the bigger tank is quite low (plants still grow well) so would there be any point in using pressurized Co2 at all on this tank? I would prefer to use it on this tank as I spend most of my time in the front room, but if it is pointless I will wont bother and use the Co2 on the smaller tank.

Any advice would be great :good:

I would say the 200l, especially considering it's in the front room. However, the 100l looks more heavily planted. It's a tough one but i would go for the 200l :good:

I would love to use it on the 200l, but I dont know if it would be worth it due to the low lighting?

Hopefully I can get some more advice shortly.

I use pressurised on my 'lower light' tank. I did in my previous tank, which was also a low to med light tank. Your plants will want for nothing if using pressurised C02. However it is completely your choice, if your plants grow well with excel and TPN+, then carry on at that.

Going on the lighting alone and what plants you have in, i would use it in the smaller tank. You certainly will see it flourish.

Thanks so much for your reply, if I were to use it on the smaller tank would it be best to put the 2nd 39w T5 bulb back in or just keep it at 1 bulb?

I would start with the 1 bulb and maybe build it up if you have success. The stems will certainly go wild.
