Pregnant??

Can anyone help? my guppy has put on a lot of weight and has a dark spot at the back of it, have some pics i took on my phone camera but they are not very good sorry. can you tell me if she is pregnant and around how far gone she is?

Yep definitely pregnant! I'd say about 2 weeks pregnant, so that give you 2 weeks or less before she has them . Congrats Tom & Ab your gonna become parents, lol.

Yes, you're right. When the gravid spot is pink, it indicats there's no fry inside. Then when they breed, the gravid spot becomes darker and darker as the fry inside develope. Here's a picture of my females, one with a light gravid spot and one with a blacker spot(more pregnant) to help you out canarsie11 :

Yes it does help out some, is that same for swordtails.
