Pregnant platy?

Females which have been around males can store sperm for use at a later date. So even if they were all female there is a good chance one or more would be pregnant. It is better to buy all males to advoid having fry if that is your goal. I wanted all male fancy guppies but my LFS only sells them in m/f pairs.

With the question debate on lanvaldius comment. He advised it isn’t necessarily humane, which is pretty much a 50/50 there as he is not saying it is the right way either. He merely stated that this is what happens in the wild.
Fish enthusiasts like to try and save as many fry as possible, you don’t have to do this and that’s fine it’s your doing at the end of the day. But with livebearers you need to take this into consideration as they are going to constantly breed. Salty&Onion may have read the sentence wrong but was on the right track and in his opinion was not the right way of doing things.
