Hard to tell if she is pregnant or not, but if she is, she has a long way to go. I don't usually put them in breeder traps, I let nature take it's course.

If you wanted to separate her, I would wait till it looks like she is about to burst. I'm not the best at judging when to separate them, as I said, I just let nature take it's course.

the platy has a gravid spot im pretty shore.

Mine have often had the dark spot for weeks and not dropped. I wouldn't panic. You'll learn when to separate her through experience.
But it is best to just let nature go, provide plenty of cover (plants) for the fry and see how they go :)

It's impossible to tell from that photo whether she is pregnant or not. However, if she has shared a tank with a male at some point in the last 6 months, then the chances are that she is.

If you are going to use a breeder trap, then leave it as long as you can, as the confined space can stress her out - her belly will go square, and she will hide at the back of the tank when birthing is imminent.

The thing to bear in mind is that it is often very difficult to move platy fry on, as the majority of LFS already have their trade sources for platies, and they are ridiculously cheap. She could have 30+ babies, and if you save them all, every time she has a drop every 4-6 weeks, you will soon be overrun with baby fish. Letting nature take its course is often the best option on so many levels.

SHE DOESNT LOOK PREG TO ME BUT IF SHE IS I WOULD SAY SHE HAS A WHILE TO GO STILL

Welcome to the forum Bartsimpson73.
You can post pictures here rather easily when they are already on photobucket like yours are.
Simply use the IMG code that they provide, paste them into your text and it will look like you have them right here. This is your fish pictures.

I would say there is a fair amount of time remaining on that female.
