Pregnant Platy (Pics Inside)

Its been at least 4-5 weeks since i noticed her getting big. Shes an original fish of my 8 month old tank. Shes been housed with a male of the same type since day 1. Shes like 3x the size of him now, lol.

There is a gravid spot on the back, couldnt really catch it with my crappy camera.

Should i be expecting any day?

Yes, any day. If she gets stressed at all, she will release. Surprised she made it to this point, most of mine will get to about 2x normal size before giving birth, never had one gwet thsat big. I miss having platies.
 
very big she is a nice square shape she might give birth any day :good:
 
I would back off a bit on the feeding. She is very close to a drop but is also eating more than she should.

She is all about food...more so than the other fish i have in the tank.

There is a white spot on the rear, im on the lookout for fry.

Thanks, i believe they are Harlequin Rasbora. I could be mistaken though.

Still no fry as of this morning. Im contemplating putting her into a breeding box.

Ive seen the white spot exposed for 3 days now and still no fry. Wondering if this fish is even preggo.

well hopefully it happens soon. im tired of turning the light on in the am and not seeing any fry and this oversized platy with a white spot on its rear swimming around like its the olympics.
 
AHAHAHAHHA. well keep the lights off and stop peaking :D
