Hi everyone
I think ive got a pregnant mollie
but was wonderin if they have a gravid
spot when pregnant as mine dont
Thanks

I am new to fish keeping but my pregnant mollies do not have a gravid spot. The momma fish that I had just died a few days ago. I think she had a swim bladder problem but I am not sure. She had about 70 babies in just under four months. She was pregnant when I brought her home from the store. All of her babies are fine. As a matter of fact, a couple of the first ones are beginning to look pregnant themselves. I do not no if they are old enough to breed but they are getting kinda fat looking.

yeah i bought her from the shop about 2weeks ago i think she was already pregnant
she is much bigger now hopefully she is pregnant and not sick

Some Mollies have visible ones, some don't. It all depends on the coloring. However, they always will have a gravid patch even if it isn't visible, because it's where the babies are, and the stored sperm, etc. Hopefully that makes sense? :)
