Hi Everyone,

My female guppy is due any day now. I would post a picture of her on her but not sure how. So I was wondering about something about her that I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet. She is grey/silver color, in the morning her gravid spot is orange then later in the day its turns back to black its weird. Does anyone know why her beautiful pregnant belly is doing this? And also the signs I should watch for, for when its time to put her it the nursery box? Thank a bunch :)

Welcome to our forum Catqueen101.
I am moving your post to the livebearer section where more of us livebearer people hang out. Color change in a gravid spot is not at all unusual. I rely on shape of the fish's belly, not color or size, to determine how things are going. A female getting close to a drop will take on a shape that suggests that she has swallowed a dice and it is distorting her belly. The shape is called squaring off. I took tons of pictures during the gestation of one of my mollies and documented what I saw at each stage in a thread here. A molly and a guppy are almost exactly the same in their shape changes so it should help you too. Try the link in my signature area that takes you to a thread describing My Molly's Progress.
