Hi! I have a fish tank with guppies (male and female) and goldfish. I believe one of my female guppies are pregnant and soon to give birth. I removed her from my main tank and put her in a smaller one. She seems pretty’s stressed and I’m not sure what to do. I have a netted breeder tank in my main tank with a couple baby guppies, not sure if it would be better to put her in there? Or maybe even just leave her in the main tank? I want as many babies to survive as possible, but I also want to make sure mama is okay and not stressed.

First, how big is the tank? Second what kind of goldfish are they, Fancytailed or common? Third, how big the smaller tank? Fourth, she sould be fine. I have platys and I just leave them in there, the females are fine and I don't care for the fry. It's survival of the fittest.

My tank is a 10 gallon. Yes they are common comet goldfish. I’m not sure the exact size of my smaller tank but it’s quite small. So do you think it would be okay for me to put her back in my main tank with the goldish? Or should I keep her separated? I don’t want her to feel stressed from my goldfish as they’re bigger than her, or from the male guppy. She’s definitely already a bit stressed out from the smaller tank, though I only moved her roughly an hour ago. This is my first time taking care of guppies so this is all new and a learning experience for me. Thank you for helping!

No problem! I hate to say this as for me personally it's embarrassing to be told I'm wrong, but, common goldfish need wayyyyyyyy more space than a 10 gallon. They grow up to a foot or longer, and, whatever you do, DO NOT RELEASE THEM INTO THE WILD. They will destroy ecosystems. If you are rid of the goldfish, put the pregenent one backn in the main tank. If not, get a breeders box. The goldfish will eat anything that will fit in their mouths. Also, expect a lot of pregenent guppies for most of the time unless you segregate them by gender.
