Hiya all

Not been in this part of the site before - cory's were always the little chaps that didn't cause much problem, although loveable to watch

Recently added two albino cory's to my tank which already had two peppered (?) cory's. Just now I've noticed that one of the albino cory's has grown a lump under her belly and seems to have a gravid spot just like my pregnant guppies. Now I know that cory's are egg layers, so several questions spring to mind :

1. Is she pregnant?
2. If yes, what can I do to help :D
3. If no, what is it?!! :(

Please help.....

uhhh, both my albino cory's seem to have this "problem"...... come on guy's someone must know. .... Please help

Hi khs666 :)

Sorry that I didn't reply yesterday, but I was hoping someone with a good answer would post.

I don't know what is wrong with your cory, but this problem is not due to pregnancy. I know that for sure. There is no normal situation that would cause this to happen to your fish.

It may be an abrasion or a bruise. I suggest you post this question in Emergencies.

If, at some time you do want to breed them, I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for the reply...even if it doesn't look like good news.. :(

Both albino cory's now seem to have this problem although both peppered are fine. Their bellies seem to have black colouration (seen through as grey) but underneath is white, with a black line running centrally down the lump for about 2/3 of the way.

Both are feeding, and playfull.

Thanks anyway Inchworm...
