Pre Drilled

I've seeen many tanks offered as "pre-drilled" and many on e-bay with holes in them stated "pre-drilled". I was wondering, why would you cut a hole in you aquarium? is it for filter outputs of somthin of that nature?

its to run pipes for an undertank wet dry filter or a sump.

if you do decide to get a tank that is drilled, make sure you can get that size of pipe work othewise you may have problems.
