hey guys, quick one for you, powerheads....im not sure which are the best kinds, i want one that i can point in different directions, like up/down/left/right i can get a pic if no one knows what i mean lol :good: anyway its for a roma 90 litre

I have a couple of the Hydor Koralia they can be vectored in different directions I am very happy with them however I have never tried any other makes so cannot compare them to any others.

One thing to remember with these guys is that there output is not a straight thrust of water more of an expanding flow like a cone.

They are very quiet and they do a range of sizes. I have 2 of the Nano's to cover dead spots in my tank they are small an intrusive.

I have small tetra's and Kuhli loaches and they have never found there way inside the cage to get them selves mulched :good:

Yup, agree with onebto. I have the same powerhead and you can move it all over the place, plus, it moves A LOT of water! I got one rated for my tank, but it was still too strong!

they are the ones ive been looking at! would i still need anouther powerhead to shift the water around then??

These powerheads are really good by themselves! They suck/draw in water from all directions, then shoot it out. I think you may find that one powerhead would be enough. If it is not, then just go ahead and buy another one.

got it :good: going to troll abit to see if i can find someone selling one!

just had a look, he has sold it :( iim not sure if i should get a hydor koralia nano or a hydor koralia 1....the tank is a roma 90 so 2ft wide just over a ft in depth and around 16inchs high, would the nano (moving i think 900litres ph) be able to do this on its own?? sorry ive no idea how i would set one up,

and just for the record im not to keen on keeping corals just yet, i need to be able to get a tank up and running with live rock and fish first lol

I think you would find the nano a little under powered and would be better with the 1 especially if you want the flow to go from one side to the other. Of course the advantage of going with the nano is if its insufficient for your tank a second will give you more flexibility for setting up your flows the down side is 2 Nanos against the no 1 is the additional £13 it would cost you .

ok, well i can pick up a 1 for £20 so i think i may go with that, see how well it push's the water around when i get it :)
