Power Heads

i have just got two power heads for free both have adjustable flow rate i was wandering if one of these would any good in a 2.5 gallon tank i would put a mini spray bar on the end so that their is vertually no current

wow! i never thought of doing that with mine. Thats a good idea actually. Im sure the betta would love it to. I mean they do live in rice paddies a such. Thank you for the idea! :nod:
 
I wouldn't reccomend it. Bettas are happiest in still / very slow moving water in my experience. Any kind of strong flow makes swimming around a lot fo work with all that finnage.

When adding a filter there are other benefits to consider than simple water movement so you have to weigh the pros and cons. Water movement on its own offers no advantage that I can think of, and may stress the fish.
