Hello,

Do any of you know where I can get a small power generator in case the power goes out? Thanks.

You could get some batteries like the kind they make for backup power for computers

or you could make a small windmill generator.

Unless your power is going to be out for periods in excess of, say, 4-5 hours, it is not really necessary for a regular aquarium in regular conditions. If it is cold, cover the tank with a couple of blankets, or boil some water on a, (non-electric!), stove and put some hot water in a few plastic bottles to float in the tank, (be careful doing this). If air is the worry, (shouldn't be), you can get cheap battery operated airpumps. Bacteria in a filter will survive for a few hours without noticeable loss.

If you really want a generator, search the web. I typed "generator" into what we use in Denmark to find products and it listed many many places. In Caifornia, probably Yelow Pages or similar.

honda makes a great gen. if its just one tank you could look at getting a honda 1000i, its computer safe should you need to use the computer for anything. & its small & low noise. I think they run (at least at the shop I work in) in the area around $1000. could look at the 2000i & you can run quiet abit more on it. & once again its computer safe.
