First off. No, I'm not experiencing one... yet. Just preparing for the inevitable.

I did do a search and didn't come up with much concerning power failures so I thought I would ask the question. (Sorry if I've missed a thread about this subject)

How have you successfully dealt with power failures?

HI Mate

We live on an island (portland) and we have quite a few powercuts from time to time.

Ive managed to get a battery powered air pump so I use that and also if the powers off for too long then I top up the water temperature with hot water from the tap but its only off for a few hours and the water doesnt drop much in that time. If its off for a long time (days) then the best thing probably to do is a few water changes because obviously you wont have any filters running to clean water or to aerate the water.

And also cut down on feeding if it is off to long.
