potential "show" bettas

so, i'm looking at my current spawn and seperating the really nice guys for consideration in the upcoming betta show up here in vancouver. i would love to enter some of these (or other) guys in the novice class. still have a month and a bit to figure out who to show though... nice pics taken today.

How in the world do you get them to pose? I have been trying for a week to get good pics of mine and can't get them in the light and turned the right way. They always want to face the camera.

they are a slow growing winter spawn of just over 4 months of age.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty certain that the BC show is a district show and not an International,so there's no Novice class or points. Everybody shows together
