I wish the mods would let me use some appropriate French language to lambaste your Dad's boss with but I think you've heard him say it already. Sad to say but this is a story as old as time. That jerk will get his someday.

Indeed. So I guess I can give a little bit of information.

So my dad is a private pilot, for those of you who didn’t know. My dads ex-boss said “he didn’t feel comfortable with my dad flying single pilot” (which means he’s the only pilot in the plane) even though my dad has over 3,000 hours of private pilot time logged.

His ex-boss also had a ton of “pet peeves” that had to happen or he wasn’t happy. And 90% of these pet peeves were against FFA (federal flight association) regulation.

He also wasn’t a very educated/experienced pilot, so my guess is he got tired or felt threatened that my dad knew more than him and tried to correct him. Obviously my dad was very tactful when correcting him, but still.

Oh man, PK that’s awful. That’s so awful. I cannot even image. Praying for a quick sale of the house, and for things to work out least ok.

And there it is ! The oldest story in the employer / employee handbook. The boss was intimidated and / or threatened by a guy that's smarter than him. You young men take this to heart. This happens all the time everywhere. The boss is insecure and thinks everybody is out to get his job but is actually too stupid to realize that a good boss should have good smart people around him to make him look good and make his job easier. That's a funny one too. The boss that keeps the good guys around him usually gets all the credit and makes his underlings feel unappreciated. In any job do your best, somebody is watching and taking note whether you notice or not. @PheonixKingZ I worked at an airport for 12 years and I met a lot of pilots. Not a one of them was any dummy. Every pilot I knew was really smart and could think fast on their feet. They all know how to land on their feet and I just know your Old Man is like that too. Don't worry.
