Posting Question

Strictly computer but could be any of six systems but usually my main desktop that is connected to a 43 inch screen
I assume were talking 4K 144hz šŸ˜„? I've had a 27" 2K 120hz display for 4 years now and I love it

From my main I can send to either a 43 or 55 inch 4K set or to both. They sit next to each other. Often I actually do send to both with normal 'puter stuff on the 43 inch and a movie on the 55 inch. Both sets are OLED and UHD (Ultra High Definition). and the 55 inch also has HDR (High Dynamic Range) which seems to improve white balance and color blending which makes it good for movies. The 55 is an LG set and the 43 a Samsung.

To be honest I'm not sure about the actual HZ on either but setting my video card settings to only show available options both show that 144hz is available so I guess that is it.

How many folks post using mostly their smart phone or their iPad/tablet or their computer? Just curious. I post mostly with my iPad. I find I make too many spelling errors using my iPhone. Clumsy fingers.
I use my computer, but I do read posts on my smartphone too.

In Chrome, there is a grammar checker/spell checker extension that makes life easy. It is free to download and easy to install too!

Quilbot Grammar Check Chrome Extension

Always my PC as it is almost my only device. I do not own a smart phone. Touch screens and I do not get along at all. I have very dry skin and that makes such screens work erratically at best for me. I do have a laptop that I barely use. I am not happy with it's 15 inch screen which I consider to be too small and i hate the keyboards on them.

I got my first PC built for me in 1987. It had a huge hard drive for that time- 10 megabytes and it ran on a 80386 chip. I ran DOS not Windows. My first copy of WIndows was 3.0 and I got it free when programmer friend took me to a Microsoft presentation for programmers. He had an extra ticket. Everybody was given a free new copy of 3.0 as we entered.

If I"m accessing our site on my phone, I will only type short messages if needed. If I have to make a longer post such as when I run the 3 contests, I use a top of line HP 14 inch Chromebook.

I almost exclusively use my laptop for accessing forums in general. I find that most mobile versions of forum websites have layouts that are difficult to navigate or frustrating in some way to me. I also like being able to see the whole text box on the desktop version without an on-screen keypad blocking things.

I only ever access TFF on my phone if I want to check notifications on the go, and that's only rarely. Plus, there's something psychological about "important" things only belonging on a larger screen... a more "official" device. Not that TFF is some formal stuffy thing, but it just feels odd writing an in-depth, detailed piece of text on a phone.

Iā€™ve never actually accessed this site on any device other than my phoneā€¦

Typos galore and I swear I spend more time editing my posts for spelling and grammar mistakes than actually typing the message

Iā€™m on my phone this morningā€¦ if any of my posts initially look goofyā€¦

One issue with my phone, and I havenā€™t figured out a fix, isā€¦ if the thread title is bigger than the window on my phone, but an allowed length for the forum, I canā€™t edit an error in the title, without erasing it and starting overā€¦. I canā€™t find a way to edit itā€¦ if it is beyond the title window

Exampleā€¦ on my caffeine thread this morning (long title) I have a ā€œthatā€ instead of a ā€œthanā€ towards the end of the titleā€¦ I could easily fix it on my computer, but would have to delete and retype it all again, to fix it on my phone

As in my post #19, the Chrome browser has an add-on extension for grammar/spell checker that gives those edit capabilities in the typed replies. a very invaluable tool.

I always use my iPad at home but Iā€™ll be on my phone if Iā€™m at work and logging on on my lunch break
