Anybody know how I would go buy posting my 3ft tank to seombody, I have agreed to send it by post but just don't know how anything works. How would payments work? Do I send out the tank first or get payment first? What do I do to post it? sorry but I just really don't have a clue what to do or even where to start lol.

Thanks

I have to say mate, doing this research before you'd sold the tank would have been a very very bright idea :hyper:

I'd ring up the post office, DHL, companies like that in your area and ask them. I'd expect it to be £20 or more at a punt.

i wouldnt be willing to risk it, i have seen a pic of the tank ( if its the same one), or use tonnes of cardboard and bubble wrap, and a courier use loads of fragile warning and tape

and get the money first, either postal order or paypal

To be honest I think you would need to find a courier that use a pallet service, and you would need to wrap very very well, stuff it full of large bubble wrap, then bubble wrap all around it, then some polystyrene on the bottom of a large box, tank on top of the, then more polystyrene over the top. I would expect payment first, postal order/cheque would be preferably, because with paypal if its damaged on delivery, they could start a dispute as item not as described - although they would need to return it to you via trackable means before paypal refunded.

The cost of this would be pretty big, I would imagine.

Thanks everybody for the replies. It's not my 180ltr Juwel tank that I am selling, it's the small 90ltr one, not sure if I have posted stuff about it on here or not. It is pretty heavy so I am guessing about £20 for postage.I am only posting it to dundee so it's only an hour away.I was gonna get it weighed at the post office and see how much it would be but what is DHL??? Is it better than the royal mail or what? Tenohfive I do agree with you but I was never planning to post it due to it being made of glass and because it's heavy but nobody else wants it thats near me and the only person that wants it lives in dundee and can't drive and neither can I lol soooooo posting is really my only option.
