Post Pics Of Your Dirty Filter

that's quiet close to the substrate lol , also thought I'd better tell you the balas are better out of there, check out their max size! (12-14 inches)

i know, they r 2-3" MAX right now, and i will put them in a 55gal when they get bigger, and then a 125gal after that.

its a 29 gal planted tank, and the filter inlet is ½way up from the bottom, i have 20-25 small fish (neon's, rasboras, bala sharks, etc.)

i tested my water my self and had it tested at 2 other places, and they all say my levels r PERFECT, and it seems like the only time my fish die r when i change/clean my filter off (in de-chlorinated water)

The fish deaths may be attributable to the filter cleaning methodology!. Try rinsing your filter media in tank water from a water change. This will do substantially less damage to the bio culture in the media and perhaps for stall the fish death which I suspect is from a significant change in you water parametres as a result of the negative impact on the bio culture from cleaning in uncycled water.
