I use API Tap Wate Conditioner. I am not sure of the ingredients. Does anyone else know?
There's no storage recommendations on the label?

Why not just trash it, get a new bottle, and do WC's?

SODIUM THIOSULFATE ANDHYDROUS is the main ingredient in most dechlorinators. It has a number of uses including being an antidote for cyanide poisoning. Apparently the stuff is highly toxic to aquatic life and dangerous to humans. How ironic that we use a substance that is highly toxic to aquatic life to neutralise chlorine so aquatic life doesn't die from chlorine or chloramine. But to be fair, the information I found appears to be for the dry powdered form of Sodium Thiosulphate, which can harm your eyes and lungs, and not for the watered down version found in pet shops.

EDTA TETRASODIUM SALT is used to keep different ingredients in a solution separated so they don't clump together and stop the liquid doing what it has to do. It's used in skin care products and cosmetics so is mildly harmful.
 
EDTA also forms metal complexes, so that's the ingredient which detoxifies heavy metals.


It was 82 deg F in our house on Tuesday. I've just done a water change using the same dechlorinator and the fish are all OK. In direct sunlight it would have been a lot hotter than the 80 deg listed for your area which could have done something to it.

I did a bit more research and updated my post (should have made a new one). Reaction occurs at 300 C so no worries
 
I am enjoying the diversion into chemistry though.
Also discovered the Sodium Thiosulphate was the reason for that nice odor in the photo studio I worked back in the day. Seems it was used as a fixer.
 
"Thio" always makes me cautious. It means sulphur and sulphur compounds usually smell. I've worked with enough of them.
