Thanks again for your help, much appreciated. I will do another water change tomorrow and await an answer from Colin. I shall pick up some of that stuff from Pets @ Home Saturday.

I don't think Pets@Home stock Myxazin by Waterlife, they only stock interpet, api and own brand meds (oh and some tetra aswell).

it could be whitespot or just excess mucous. I have seen fish develop similar markings before that turned out to be a bad case of Ich.
Do any of the spots/ marks appear to be moving or disappearing?

The fish are covered in excess mucous so you might want to do a 50% water change and complete gravel clean each day for the next week. Also clean the filter out if it hasn't been done in the last couple of weeks. That will lower the nitrates and then we can see what the fish looks like afterwards.

Thanks for the replies :)

Do I need to get the actual treatment from waterlife? or would the equivalent from API do?

I will do the water changes as you suggest Colin, the spots seem to be the same the last couple of days.
Filter was cleaned last night also.

Shall I add the medication when I get it? or shall I wait for a couple more days of water changes before?

I would just try water changes like colin has advised for now.
If no change get back to the board.

If it was whitespot would of expected other fish to have it by now.

There are a lot of shops that sell Myxazin, and it's available online. Try the LFS's near you and see if they have it if you need it.

The API equivalent should be fine but check the directions.
Waterlife Myxazin is safe for scaleless fish (loaches, catfish, eels, etc), but many medications can be too strong for these types of fish. If the instructions suggest using a half dose for scaleless fish then use a half dose. Otherwise most medications that treat whitespot should be fine to use regardless of brand.

I bought some Interpet Anti Internal Bacteria today from P@H (looked around for myxazin, no LFS had it)

Will do my fifth daily water change a bit later on. The spots are still visible and still the same size, he has also started to swim into things the last day or so.
I will add some of this anti bacteria after the water change and will let you know if it has any effect.

Thanks again for your help.

Oreo had a whitespot about 3 weeks ago, but I just left it, and it went away.

Couldn't of been whitespot then. As whitespot a killer if left uptreated.

if the spots haven't changed or disappeared after a week then it probably isn't whitespot/ Ich.
Normally with Ich the spots drop off the fish after a few days and the fish looks better. If the tank is treated the spots don't come back, but if it isn't treated then they come back in force.

Can you post another picture of the fish so we can compare it to the first pics?

Hey guys, unfortunatly he died :( I done the water change and added the interpet anti bacterial medicine. Straight away he was very active (as was all fish) he spent about an hour swimming around aimlesly. Left him for a couple of hours, when I got back he was doing the usual, laying down. He then kind of went mental, darting around, doing loops. Stopped mid air and fell to the floor. Did not move, heavy breathing for half hour. Had short stringy yellow poo, a short burst. Then he went crazy twice more, second time he stopped breathing.

During this time the spots became less visable, more visable and so on. When he died the spots had become larger and he had lost most of his black stripes.

R.I.P clown loach

Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated

sorry to hear about the fish :(

yellow stringy poo is often associated with coccidiosis. However, infected fish will usually lose weight quite rapidly before they die.

the white markings might have been normal colouration caused by stress from a disease. The black markings will often fade when a fish is sick or dead.

Bless Him.
