Possible New Section?

was wundering, could there be a wild betta area added to the betta section?

noticed a couple of us are starting to get wild veriations and arent exactly in the same category as betta splendens are asin, you can house these together , 1 male to group of females, etc etc.

just thought it may be somthing to ponder about seeing as more people are getting the wild variations.

I don't see the point really, It will only reduce the efficiency of that section, you're more likely to get replies if all of the betta topics are in the same section.

Wild Bettas - that's enough to get me back to bettas

I used to have a female only tank, I loved it - then someone (him indoors ) sprayed flea spray on the dogs and bang, a whole tank full of dead females. Just couldn't face restocking

The wild rarer bettas were just coming on to the scene, might nip over and have a look

truckasauras123 , wild bettas are a whole differant kettle of fish compared to the bettas most people know, a section mite attract people to come have a look rather then seeing the odd thread inbetween many normal betta threads,

maybe even some stickys of gatherd information, but seeing as there rather differnant to betta splendens thought it would stop it getting mixed in with the betta splenden stuff thats all. so surely would make it easyer to view wild betta stuff, an easyer to find info .

Its a general fish forum though.
If they went into bettas the would have to do the same for other fish. Its not a betta forum.

The Betta forum will have to remain as it is for now.
If it merits division at some later stage then that will be addressed as and when traffic warrants.
There's a whole lot of other different species of Betta other than splendens and because of the same constraints we cannot divided the forum for these either.

ok , i will peice toghether as much info as i can without copying off stuff, write it up and send you what i end up with to see what you think.

Hi -Rob-

Please keep posting about your wild bettas. While we don't have many members posting about them these days, I'd very much like to see more members develop and awareness of them and perhaps purchase some themselves. If this were to happen, I would support setting aside a subforum for them.

We used to have some members, (including wuvmybettas) who were keeping various species, so you might be able to find more information by doing a search of the old posts in the Betta section.
