Possible Ich/ick...please Help!

Most marine LFS will sell you RO water in a pinch. Since you're with me in the states, I'd suggest buying an RO unit off ebay. Just make sure it has a flush valve or flush kit installed :). You can go with a 50 or 100GPD unit. DI cartridges are nice, but the RO membrane itself does most of the work.

As for the whitespots, the fish will show signs of ich more when it is stressed out. If its not stressed, it will show fewer spots, if its stressed, it will "break out" in spots as you're seeing. Gotta get that chemistry under control first and foremost ;)

Edit, dont worry about the pH for now, so long as its stable. Stable and low pH is better than wildly swinging high pH ;)

So now what is a better name brand unit, and how much am i looking at. Also how long will it last before it"craps out?"

Geesh i got a ton of work to do, between setting up my 125, work, and fixing this tank, im int for it! lol It's all worth it in the end though. I love my fish and my tank, Can't wait to go bigger!

I get my Ro water from Wal-Mart for about 60 cents a gallon. That might be an option, if you can't get the RO unit right away.

somethin like this ;)

The "business end" of an RO unit if you will is the RO membrane. They can last for years if properly cared for. You'll also want to purchase a TDS meter to go along with it ;)

Thanx for all the info guyz! I will get back to your shortly (in the next day or so) and let you know how it is going!

BTW- The RO water maker looks like it's gonna require me to do a hell of a lot of researching! lol
