One of my angels has been excreting long stringy white poop. Although she is otherwise acting normal, I am concerned that this may be the early stages of Hexamita.

If other activity appears to be normal, is long white stringy poop always a sign of internal parasites?

Would it be smart to treat the tank with Clout already? Will Clout kill my bio filter?

It could be a bacterial infection, parasites, or a poor diet.

Can you give us more about your set up?

Long stringy white poo can be a number of things constipation so what do you feed the fish.
Bacteria infection to internal parasites.
Try some shelled peas first to see if it flushes the fish through.
Other signs are a enlarged anus, or it will look red and inflamed, being bloated, or skinny with a sunken in belly.

The best site I've found on hole in the head.

It's a well undercrowded 90 gallon setup. Water params all good, pH 6.5.

I feed them a combination of live black worms, frozen brine shrimp, and tetramin flakes.

For now, I'll try the shelled peas and keep a close eye on her.

Try the peas for a few days and if no change get back to the board, good luck.
