I have a Juwel RIO 125 running a Tetratec EX700 external filter. I am wondering what is the best position for my spraybar?
At the moment i have the outlet in the back right hand corner of the tank & the sparay bar stuck to the glass at the far left hand side.
This spray bar is going from the back of the tank to the front. I have the little holes in the bar pointing up slightly at around 1 inch from the top surface of the water. This gives a nice surface ripple. Now i have put some surface palnts in the tank (Frogbit) this is being washed all around the place. Wondering what i should do for the best????

Cheers
Andy

If you have the spray bar pointing such that you get a disturbance of the tank's water surface, it will definitely help keep the water's oxygen level near saturation. The main idea is to have the filter flow disturb the surface so that localized stagnant areas do not develop. If your positioning of the spray bar does this, the positioning is effective in being as good as can be expected for maximizing the number of possible fish in the tank.

if u are worried your not get enough circulation in the tank at lower levels and want to keep the spray bar in its current location then buy a powerhead which marine users use to create a nice flow in the tank...

u can place this so i blows in a diangle motion across the tank from back left corner to third to half way at centre of glass to force the water towards the filter, u will also be able to disguse the power head too by drawing ppls eyes else where with decoration such as rockwork and plants.
