Pop Eye

Hi,
noticed today my jumbo ram has a buldging eye is this pop eye? the only other symptom he has is a small white spot on his back. is melafix any good to treat it as it says it does on the bottle.
Also one of my peppered corys died today and the other one is swiming like he is very unstable. could these be related.

Water stats are:
amonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - somewhere between 0 and 5.0
ph - 7.5

tank size 90 L

1 female fighter
4 neons
4 silvertips
1 cory
1 jumbo ram (The affected one)
1 other fish which i forget the name of lol. begins with a k

Any help would be appreciated

I brought some myxazin today as i saw someone this is really good for popeye

Depends on the strain of bacterial if the myxazin works.
How is the fish now.
Also there anti internal bacterial med by interpet for popeye.

the fish is acting totally normal just has a big eye

I found Myxazin worked extremely well when one of my mollies had a severe case of pop eye. It cleared up very quickly. Of course, I've no way of knowing what strain of bacteria it was - but it was initially stress (and possibly direct trauma) that brought it on (caused by a red tailed shark continually bullying her, not allowing her to eat, fighting with her etc). He quickly had to be rehomed.

Like your tank, my stats were fine (and I keep a clean tank), so I knew the pop eye was caused by something other than tank water conditions.

Is there anything you can think of that might have caused the fish to develop this illness - I mean, fish don't usually get this sort of thing unless their immune system has been lowered and stress is a major factor in that.

Only reason I ask is that you may well fix the current pop eye problem, but if the underlying cause is not sorted then the pop eye could well come back again, or another, worse illness in the fish. Once a fish has been ill and treated, it does take a while for them to be out of the danger zone, so to speak, and their immune system will still be on the low side. They need a bit of TLC and a watchful eye to make sure they don't go downhill again soon after.

I did a water Test today and ammonia is on like 1 >< So were gonna have to do a water change today i think

... and a gravel clean would probably be a good idea to do at the same time. The ammonia spike could be caused by tiny uneaten food particles rotting amongst the gravel.

This morning he was a bit wobbly swimming so we put him into a breeders tank before we went out

When we came back he had died
