What size tank are they housed in? Length is more important than total volume.

tank is four foot long

havent been on here for a while but since i last spoke on here i have started doing weekly 50% water changes and i am now on day 6 of treatment with melafix. Still no change

Usually those white marks are bruises on the lips from bumping into too short of a tank or tank decorations, or an infection from too dirty water, of a tank, or filters. They are common to new rainbow owners and I fought with that for a while when I first got mine. You need to have spot on water quality and clean, mature filters. Do you have soft water or hard water?
