Hello,

I have a common plecostomus, which seemed to be showing the signs of a fungal infection / finrot recently (it had a bulbous growth on its nose, that seemed furry, and there was a hole in one of its fins). I've been treating it with Interpret no. 8, and it seemed to be getting better. But I came home from work today to find that its nose looked very sore, almost as if it had scraped something.

Today's picture, showing 'grazed' nose

The plecostomus is in a three-month old, 35-litre community tank with danios, corydoras and tetras, and I've had the plecostomus for about two months. I'm in a high pH area, so I'm trying to bring the pH down a little using bogwood. I can't detect any ammonia or nitrites in the water.

Do you think he has just scraped something, or is there something else I should be looking out for?

I'll be very grateful for any help you can give me.
