I talk of course about Jack. Jack has been our family dog now for 13 years but his back legs have started to go and he runs less and less. and when he tries to jump up at you like he's always done before he falls over because they can't support him any more :( the thing is if I take him to the vet they'll do the dirty deed and I don't want that but am I making him suffer by not doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? I JUST DON'T KNOW?

Take him to the vet. Maybe whatever is wrong with his legs is treatable?
They can't MAKE you put your dog down, for having legs that just give out, especially if he doesn't seem to be in pain.

I was on a site the other day and it say's that my breed of dog only live between 12/14 years he's 13! I know what they'll say

My dog had the same problems in her older years as well... she had a severe case of arthritis in her hind legs. The vet gave me some multivitamin tablets to give her, but that didn't work too well. Then again, that was a couple of years ago, there's no telling what new meds they may have for them now. Wishing you all the luck because I know how hard it is to watch your pet grow old and feeling helpless.

At least you gave him 13 years of a happy life........you dont want him to be in pain all his life that would be unfair.Im sure he has had a long and fun life with you but if he has a good quality of life go for it and take him to the vets!!!!it might be treatable. My Scottish Terrier Max was 6 when i had him put down :( last year.
His colon had stopped working. He couldnt eat drink move or go to the toilet. On his last few days he couldnt lift his head,i new it wasnt fair to make him suffer like he was and it was decided to let him go :-( :-(
I cryed for months afterwards but i no hes happy and not in pain :-( :-( :-(
I STILL MISS HIM AND ALWAYS WILL!!!!!!!!!!
