I put a ghost shrimp in my betta's home.Sure...I knew he might eat it.But I thought it would either give him some live food to enjoy or do a bit of housekeeping...or both.Later I went to check up and the shrimp was gone.I was surprised and rather impressed that my betta could have so thoroughly disposed of him in a few short hours. Then I spotted the poor little blighter curled up dead on my counter beside the bowl.Somehow it never even occurred to me that the little creature might make a break for it and succeed in escaping, however briefly
It was a rather terrible feeling and I'm not sure why.But the thought of him being chased right out of the bowl by a hungry fish
There is a lot of space between the top of the water and the top of the bowl.I can't help picturing the desperate climb and the jump from the edge
Guess I have a bit to learn about shrimp AND bettas
Koda
