Everytime i go to the pet store, i see these betas with there fins shreaded off. I want to take them home and love them forever. Is there hope for them, or should i pray someone goes to hell for letting this happen to them? I have room for them, but i dont want to buy fish only to have them die.

The fins may not be shredded and they may be in good health. There are different kinds of Bettas such as the Crown tail betta who's fins look as though they have fin rott but thats just the way they look.

if you have room bring them home!!! I've brought some home that were on the brink of death and they're amazingly healthy now. ;) They appreciate it soooo much & bounce back from their traumatic experience really quickly

as a matter of fact ,all of my betta with exception of about 4 are rescues ;)

i brought home my baby Pierce because i thought he was being harassed by the Blue Gouramis he was being kept with; turned out he was just a Veiltail with a Combtail gene, and a very pretty boy at that. he seems to know he's special. perhaps you're seeing special traits in these Bettas, because if the cups are changed regularly and they're covered they can't be being eaten.

if not...
