 :-( we had to have him put down last night, only a few days ago he had a fit, my sister was up untill 3 in the morning looking after him and trying to help him, he became unresponsive and limb, but he was back to his usual self around 3 in the morning, his other 2 brothers passed away when they were only a week old due to a heart problem (stroke the vet said) anyway yesterday before i left him to go to work, i noticed he was abit limb and he didnt want to move...the person in his care was keeping an eye on him so i told her and left, i came back and later that day and at around 5 he foam'd at the mouth and fitted, its the most horrible thing ive seen happen :( after a few mins he stopped and just lay there limb, he was still breathing but that was all -_- my sister was phoned and she got here in 2 mins flat! she tryed her hardest to wake him as he was just staring...he didnt blink nor move, the most we got from him was a tiny meow....we got 1 more meow and then he was taken to the vet as he still didnt move...i found out later he had suffed a stroke and fitted into a coma :( the vet rendered him braindead and we was asked what to do, of course we chose for him to be put to sleep, it was one of the hardest things to do, he had such character and was only 4 weeks old :-( his only surviving brother is still here, we are keeping a close eye on him and hope for the best, RIP flash :(

Oh My God, that sounds so horrible, it must have been hard for you to watch it, I'm sure he enjoyed his short life. Well done for being able to let the vet put him to sleep.
My thoughts are with your family at this hard time.

i'm sorry amber, but whether he is in a safe and better place, i dont think its something to smile about really.

razer i am so sorry for your loss, i really am :(

what concerns me is that you lost a couple to stroke, is it a getetic thing? as you say you have one baby left

i know how you feel watching your cat fit, i had to watch mine at 5 weeks, its so scarey, but to have lost him that way :(

my sincerest condolences x

Sincerely sorry to hear about your loss.... It is very unfortunate and it sounds very much like it could be a genetics thing.... Good luck with the brother. RIP Flash.

ues we do think its a genetic thing..this is why we are keeping a close eye on his brother, although we do think he is going to be fine as he is showing no signs of "stoke like symtoms" sorry i didnt no the best way to put it, but the others started to get real lazy then not move and sleep alot a few ours before they fitted, poor little guys, :(

Hello, I am really sorry for your loss, flash was a beautiful kitten, do you own the mother or father? how old are they? and are they up to date with all their vaccinations, worming and flea treatments? sorry for the questions I was a vet nurse for 7 years :look: I really hope the remaining one stays fit and well for you, you probably already know this but please don't breed from the parents again or it is likely to happen again if it is genetic, please neuter the adult cats if you can as it is the best prevention.

hmph, no we dont own the mother, all the kittens were rejected by her after a week, the girl who owns her decided it would be a good idea to get her "spaded" after the kittens were born, hench why my sister took them in to hand rear them. we are NOT friends with the girl i can assure you and we gave her what for but she is my sisters bfs little sister so we have had to stay on talking terms with her however, im very sure she knows how much we disagree with what she did, let alone the vet who did it, either way i dont think we need to worry about passing that message on as her cat wont be getting pregnant anytime soon. we dont know who the father is unfortunatly,

second pic :good:

looks so sweet with his little feet curled up.

i didnt realise you were hand rearing the little guys, it makes things even harder :(

i am sorry, but i have to ask, what has the girl done so wrong in owning the mother? or have i missed something?

Hi so sorry about your little kitty you did all you could sometimes its just one of those things i know that wont help but its true
