one of my cardinal tetras looks sorta...well bent.....and he's all skinny i dont know wheter to take him out of the tank and try to feed him by himself...or just leave him but there are some bigger fish that might pick him off!!

Sounds like a classic case of "neon tetra" disease. Apparently cardinals are susceptible to it too. I'd remove him so you don't risk infecting your other ones.

Cardinal tetras are not able to get Neon tetra disease, they are carriers but have a natural immunity to it.

there are many rasons for a bent spine the most common is a genetic defect caused by inbreeding. The second most common is overfeeding.

Try www.fishdoc.co.uk for other reasons. or do a google for "bent spine on fish".

Ah thanks for clearing that up.

You're very funny canarsie11, and I'm sure we are all very amused. NOT. What's the point in making those types of comments?

Cause this is classic case of you acting like you know everything and end up being wrong. Just read for a while, dont post

Well I do not claim to be any kind of expert, and I did say "it sounds like". I did not say I was positive about it. Anyway I did apologize for being wrong, and i am sure you have been wrong too at some point in your life. Either way, I apologize about giving out false info, I had simply read elsewhere that cardinals can have neon tetra disease and this sounded a lot like it.

Actually, cardinals are "resistant" not "immune" to NTD. If their immune systems are compromised, the parasite becomes active.

Ah! See, I was right! Potentially they could have it then.
