Hey there....

my family is thinking about making a pond in the backyard and i was just wondering if there were other fish that you could put in a pond with goldfish.....besides koi.

I live a lil north of Seattle, Washington... it can rain alot sometimes... it snows seldom (rarely..once but its not a whole lot) here and it can get to 90 degrees in the summer

we have not decided what size of a pond, so koi may not be put in it since i have heard they need at least 1000 gallons....

i think it might be 400-700 gallons.... and if thats the case i plan on putting snubukins and a few commons and comets.... but i was hoping if there were other alternatives.

Golden orfe? From what i've seen they are like more streamlined goldfih that stay near the surface of the water and are much lighter in colour. You can get tench too, but they are mainly bottom dwellers and you probably wont see them :/ .

are these any fish that you could buy... like at the LFS or something?

i was thinking... could i get like a dojo/weather loach in a pond?

oh by the way i google golden orfe and tench.... THOSE ARE HUGE... those fish are real pond fish... i was just talkin about like ornamental fish....

but maybe smaller pond fish?
