Batrachus trispinosus are brackish so wouldn't work. I wouldn't go with a centipde knife as you wont see much of it.Synodontis nigriventris don't really get big enough.

Sev's will be fine, Pictus are not a great choice as if your bichir tries to eat one it will result in the death of the bichir

Bigger catfish that have big barble / spike things like the pictus do.

Cichlid'sare mostly fine if theyre a decent size and placid. I have mine in with an Oscar atm and it has been in with a Jack Dempsey, if you're using a 55g it will rule out quite alot of Cichlids and catfish. I had a Sorubim Lima in with mine , it was a nice fish but was about 14inch when it died so most likely more than width of a standard 55g
