Poe And Butterfly's Pregnacy Journal

Well Poe gave birth tonight and I missed pretty much the whole thing. The good thing is I had already feed the fish tonight the bad thing is I need to clean the aquarium tomorrow. Hope the little guys don't get hurt or caught in the vacuum.

It's been four weeks and hopefully 3 of my girls will be ready to drop anytime now to 2 weeks. Sunset looks like she's ready to drop any time now, Poe and Butterfly look like they are still going to carry for a couple of more weeks, and Try isn't even showing a sign of pregnancy. Poor Nemo keeps getting slapped around by at least Sunset. I lost all the fry from the first set of drops so hopefully with the breeder's grass I bought the fry will survive. The package came with 2 pieces so I have one floating and one on the bottom.

Not Poe or Butterfly's offspring but I finally was able to move a baby platy into my 10 gallon that has been unused for a while now. I just hope little one will make it now that it has been moved into a new aquarium. I know one thing it's so cute and the kids will be so happy to see it when they find out. Right now little one is sitting at the bottom of the tank. I did move a plastic breeder's grass into tha aquarium for it and another plant.

The one baby platy did make it and was moved into the big aquarium a couple of weeks ago. It is a male. Saturday. I moed two babies into a 2 and a half gallon and then moved two more last night. I think these four are vuppy babies but i dont know since I do not have much experience on telling the species apart at such a young age. I do know i will once they start to show their colorn

I'll just let you know that both males will mate will all females :) They don't mind colour, they just mate XD Also, the pleco is going to get too big for your aquarium unfortunately :(

I know the pleco will get to big we are going to get a bigger aquarium after awhile after we move.

As far as the babies go I have added like 5 more little one's to the nursery and am ready to upgrade it.  The 2.5 gallon is getting to small for all the little ones.  The new ones are platy and have spots on them.  The older one's I'm not what color or sex they will be yet.  Some of the guppies seem to be getting color on their tails so I'm anxiously waiting to see their colors.  Since I only have 1 male at least with them I know who their daddy is. We are thinking if we can get a few females out of the four that we already have we are going to get another male of a different color but I'm not sure yet.  Will have to wait and see what happens.

The little orange on in the back is Speedy.  He is the first fry that I have moved and kept so far.  The other orange one I think is his mother or else his mom has died but she is always that big.

The orange and black finned one is the mommy to my newest platy babies and then I think the big grey female guppy is the mother to my four guppy offspring.

One of the newest babies (remember this one and its siblings just got moved like Thursday night)

The latest group of platies that I've moved out as fry are defiantly getting cuter.  They came from a red or orange wag female and I don't know what the father was but I'm finding mostly orange and spotted babies, white and spotted babies, and one orange and black baby (it's mostly black with an orange underside and nose).  A few of the babies are actually starting to catch my attention and I want to keep.  I know there is a white and spotted one and a the black one that I want. I will try to get pictures of them later tonight and post them.

Oh and Friday I moved 4 yellow tailed guppy fry that were about 2 months into my 20 gallon with the adults but they seem to have came down with ich.  That I am trying to treat with some medication but read that adding salt to your aquarium could help with the disease also.  Has anyone tried this.

Moved 15-16 babies from our platy and guppy tank today plus I know there are few more in there but don't know if we will be able to move them.  Right now about 12 of them are in a 2.5 gallon tank until I can move some of the older babies into the 20 gallon after we lost 2 young male guppies from the first 4 guppies I moved just a few months ago. It seems like they got a fungus and it was eating through their skin.  Plus we lost one of our adult yellow female guppies but still have 2 female young guppies that have moved.  I am treating the tank for fungus and can't wait for it to be done so that I can get the tank back the way it should be.  I'm tired of seeing yellow water.

Here are pictures of the babies that were moved last month.

I think all the spotted platies are from our orange wag tail that we bought already pregnant.  I really need to get a picture of my favorite platy baby from that batch.  But at least here are a few.  Maybe when I get ready to move them all I'll try to put them in a glass and get separate pictures of all of them.

Once these guys are moved I'll try to move the new ones over.  I know there are about 5 smaller babies in the 10 gallon that are hard to get pictures of because they only come out at feeding time.  But there is a pretty orange one, one that looks like it will be mostly black, and another spotted one.  Then there are 3 itty bitty ones that were just moved in this morning that I know nothing about what they will really look like at this time in there.  As for the 2.5 gallon I think I've moved 2 black or mostly black babies in it and the rest have been spotted but I'm not sure it is so hard to tell at this stage of the game and I really didn't pay alot of attention to them as I was moving them.

Moved move babies yesterday into the 2.5 gallon and then Friday I moved 3 platy females and 2 female guppies and a male guppy into our 20 gallon.  Then we cleaned our 2.5 gallon and moved quite a few of the babies out of it into the 10 gallon to make room and give everyone some more room to grow.

Here are the six babies we moved

If you look in the back above the log you will see a white one with all kinds of specks on it.  I haven't named her yet but she has been my favorite out of my 2nd batch due to the little black spot on her head.

The little one in front with the black tails and spot all over her body caught my attention yesterday when I was looking for some new babies to add to the aquarium so I moved her also.

And here is little Minnie and the one with the black tail. Minnie is the mostly black one with the orange nose and belly.   Minnie has also had my attention for quite a while now.

Here's two of the guppy babies.  The male is the one with the brighter yellow tail at the rear of him.  He has almost a semi circle right before his tail starts.

Ok so I only found 5 out of the six.  I know they are all there I just couldn't identify the 2nd female.

Here are pictures of some of my fry that I have in my 10 gallon.  I really wish my 2.5 gallon would allow me to take pics but they either come out blurry or they picture gets the flash.
