So more than 3 months ago I got 2 pregnant guppies and a synodontis catfish they all live in a 3.5 gallon tank which I know is small, but they all were living happily and they both gave birth and everything was good they were like the three musketeers, except for when I fed them the large guppy, its just a bit larger, would chase the smaller one with out nipping it, but today I saw the smaller guppy's side fins ripped to the half and a little on the back fin, and the larger guppy did it because I could still se it chasing it and nipping it, it definitely wasn't the syno. Why did she suddenly got mad? Thanks :)

It could be territorial disputes. Since the tank is so small, it is really only suitable for shrimp. Guppy's need an 10 gallon + and whatever synodontis species this is, needs a tank of 55 gallons even if it's the smaller species. Can I see a picture of the synodontis and the guppy?

Also, it could be that the larger one is trying to protect their babies.

I removed the fry about a month ago and the guppies were always friends and hanging around with each other, here are some picture.

I think the cat is a synodontis aterrimus but I'm not sure. :)

Either way he will get too big for the tank and the substrate isn't ideal.

I think he is a featherfin squeaker. He needs a 50 gallon minimum for fully grown and needs a lot of hiding places.
