How offten should i do water changes untill the ammonia has gone complettly??

How often depends on your readings. You'll have to keep testing as if you were cycling your tank. Then do big water changes to bring the levels down while your bacteria replenish themselves.

I had a similar experience one time. I'd changed from gravel to sand and kicked off a cycle. Was all panicky, but a few water changes later and we were all ok :) You're on the right track, just keep it up.

Done a 50-60% water change today and the reading hasnt really changed much going to do another one later fish do seem really happy now and eathing well too but gona keep changing the water untill its completlly gone thank you again for your help

That's great news :)

Yeah those big water changes are annoying, that's why we usually just say go ahead and do 80-90% in one go as it's more effective and saves hauling the buckets!
