Plumbing Help
I'm trying to semi-automate my water changes. I have 3/4 inch pvc going into my tanks and I need to find fitting and a strainer that will connect to just plain old 3/4 inch pvc pipe. So far I haven't found a strainer or a fitting to connect a strainer to 3/4 inch pvc pipe. Any help as to what to get would be appreciated.

(I checked out a lot of local places and they don't seem to have a clue as to what I'm talking about) So an online place to buy the stuff would be great.

Have a great day

How about trying to make your own? I'd glue a male threaded piece to the end of the pipe & get a female threaded piece glued to a 1" nipple glued to a cap with a bunch of holes drilled in it. Cut a piece of screen to fit inside the cap over the holes and screw it to the male piece. When you need to clean it just unscrew it & clean it out.

use aquarium cement to attach some fine netting to the nipple, that or twist a two inch long bit of stainless steel wire about an inchdown the neck of it. hope you figure it out and be sure to automate with chlorine free water!!!

hope I helped

Just a quick question on this subject- how would you automate in your dechlorination?

That's why I said semi-automate. I'm filling a resevior with dechlored water then pumping the water from the tank to a drain and tehn pumping the dechlored water back in to the tank... I just need to find a good screen for the intake pvc pipe.
