Hello

Does any one know digital plug-in timer with 1 second precision?

I have looked on ebay, google, wiki, amazon etc. and it seems that such a thing does not exist.

Thanks
Bart

What's the call for such resolution? Even if the timer period could be set to the second, I doubt it would keep good enough time.

I'm afraid that I must agree with Cybergibbons. I have plug in mechanical timers that do fine with 15 minute intervals and for plant care they are plenty accurate enough. That does not mean that they don't keep good time, they do very nicely, but that I have the ability to adjust the time that the lights are on in increments of 15 minutes. If I set lights off to happen at 21:18 each day, the timers do a great job of doing it at the same time each day. That aspect of the timing is quite accurate. What I can't do is set my time that the lights are on to 8 hours 17 minutes and 12 seconds. Instead the lights are on for either 8:15 or 8:30 each day. If you have a need for more accuracy in fish timing, I have yet to encounter the need.

My digital timer works on minutes but like oldman i just use it on 15 minute intervals. Mine comes on at 9:30am in a morning, then set to go off at 12:45pm for a 15 minute coold down then back on at 1pm til 9:30.

I just use the simple, cheap mechanical ones too. No batteries to run out. Plenty good enough precision for plants.

I have electronic ones from argos that have minute increments - not sure why you would need to be any more accurate than that!
