Hi Guys,

I Have a Question.

Can All Species of Plecs Live in Coldwater.
I ask Because the LFS I Visited Yesterday Has:

Bulldog
Rubberlipped
Gold B/N
B/N
Gibbi
Starlight

All In Coldwater with the Goldies and Loaches and Crabs.

So I am Thinking that all the Trops and Colds are on the Same System, Otherwise would it not shorten there life span.

I did not dip my finger in the tanks - They are open top as it was busy with lots of people milling around.

On another Note,
They had 2 Tanks with Jade Eye Cichlids that staff had Bought in.
Tehy had another tank with mature Jade Eyes and Mature Jack Dempseys. The JD were Really BEat Up and Starting to get Fungus. So I had Closer Look. The Jade Eyes had about 100 Fry in the Bogwood. I asked them to move the Dempseys and they said they wouldn't and would not give the fry away. This after making the statement that they are finding it hard to shift the Jade Eyes.
They also Charged 50p for Apisto Fry that I found in with the Panda Cories.

good question... dont know the answer, but you might get a quicker response in the catfish section... good luck, and let me know what you find out! :)

No species of Loricarid can live in cold water. Some species can live in temperate water which does not drop down below 20c as the shallow fast moving waters they originate from stay cool, this would include all the species you listed.

The Water Must Be cool then as they have been housing them since November with the Coldies

I have a bristlenose in what I call my coldwater tank, it doesn't have a heater but very rarely does it drop below 20o. :hyper:
