plecs or catfish

You'd need a lot more (around six times more ti be kind to the fish) than a 500 gallon tank before you can consider a fully grown RTC. They rarely get more than 3 - 3.5 feet in aquaria and locals tell stories of seeing them up to 8 feet long, though I don't know of any corraborated stories of the getting much more than 5 or 6 feet long.

i quite simple can't choice between either on them.

i love all my cats and all of my plecs the same ammount.

i love catfish. their cool. especially my asian red-tail catfish. the kings of cats at least that what i read and got from others. supposedly the meanist fresh water fish out there . its big and gots an attitude. just love it .

BTW i just got him to feed from my hands .

Plecs suck


I preffer real catfish, especially those from the Pimelodidae and Bagridae families. I find plecs to be a bit of a waste of bioload on a tank as most are strictly nocturnal and are raely seen in a well furnished tank, most dont even eat algea so are not even doing a job.

I believe CFC is half way there! My young plecs are doin great! But as soon as they grow larger, they dont eat algae, and like said, dont preform any other task than sitting still.

But i like em! Especialy small ones. They are keeppin algae to a minimum in my tank anywyas. But i dont know about cats, cause i neva really kept any.
