plecs or catfish

I love both plecs and other catfish, but I prefer the characteristics of most regular catfish, especially my pictus and syno. petricola. The plecs are great to look at but don't do an awful lot.

My Bristlenose plec is the most active, and hes good fun to watch, but i prefer watching my 4 syno petricola playing and exploring

Plecos are nice looking but they arent active. I like pretty much any species of syno and Pictus and i like the larger cats like mystus, shovelnose, RTC's and such.

Always been a Corydoras person, but considering Ottos and maybe a few plecs at the moment.

I agree...But im biased and love my Pims...nothing like a fast moving carnivore.

It depends, are we talking looks or persontality coz most gancy plecos are gooooooooooooooorgeous to look at, but other cats are real characters, but my tigrinus has both so ner ner ner ner ner!

But my adonis pleco is sooooo nice to look at and sufferss from A.D.D. (Attention Deficiency Disorder!)

I love 'em all, but I have to admit to leaning towards plecs.

If I had the tank for it I would love to grow out a full sized Red tailed South American Catfish, if I only had a 500 gallon tank.

Not me, just stealing bandwidth.

They are awesome creatures.

They get to 4-5 feet (1.25-1.50 meters) and are amazing. I do like plecos for community tanks and corys are always a good addition to any tank for clean up duty.
