Plecos are very shy creatures that have to be given abundant hiding places. Depending on the size and filtration of your tank, you may/should feed it some kind of green food, as all plecos are veggies
Nah, not IMO, My pleco must have been very unique (i think they are all very different anyhow), i had to rehome him at the LFS as he was a gibbiceps and i was told he was a cory - Doh!!, being new i didnt know.
I took pictures of him, and posted them on here, and was really sad to see him go, however his new tank was huge and i just knew he's be happy.
Anyways back to the main point of this reply, My plec was not a veggie he ate bloodworms and used to chase the other fish away to greedily eat them all, and that was on top of his algae wafers. He was always in plain view and actively cleaning my tank all the time, often sucking the front of the glass.
Since he's been gone, the glass has become slimy all around, its amazing how good they are at cleaning.
He was lovely i miss him lots.
