I need to a pleco that doenst get huge and I think Ive narrowed it down to the Bristlenose or the Rubbernose. I need opinions on which one is better and why.

Thanks B)

Rubberlips grow smaller than bristlenoses, but are shyer. Rubberlips are strictly nocturnal, but bristlenoses are out day and night.

Also, incase you have issues with buying fish straight from the wild, bristlenoses are easily bred, but rubberlips are taken from the wild.

I personally prefer bristlenoses over rubberlips. I have one, and they are awesome fish that are full of character.

Go with bristlenose plecos they look cool don't grow big and can keep a tank free from algae :D

I'd say bristlenose too, because you get to see them a lot more than rubberlips.

We allegedly have four rubberlips in our pleco community, but we only see each of them about once a month.

On the other hand the six bristlenoses we have in that tank are always out and about.

Here's one of ours enjoying lunch.

A little, but only to other plecs and limited to pushing and shoving.
Our rubberlips do the same on the rare occasions we see them.

Cool Clip ! and beautiful fish

I like both of them so it really doesnt matter to me. The really good things is that the hiding places in my tank are positioned to were I can see in. I did this so I can see the fish that hide, seeing as most of my fish do hide. For some reason I leaned more toward the Rubbernose...

can bristlenoses climb out the tank.. i heard this once and wondered if it was true
