My pleco (roughly 2" in length) is pooing alot and its poo is twice the length of its body!!
This has been happening alot :/
Is this a health problem?

Thanks,
Matt

how long have you had the pleco for?

no plecos just sh*t like mad lol its just theyr nature to constantly drag lengths of poo behind them lol

Don't know, my do the same sometimes when they eat just algae, when they got some algae wafers or
something else they do smaler poo. Cant see much if anything is wrong, but I'am not expert anyway.

Had the pleco for a month. Tank currently has 2 platys and the pleco in. been set up 2 months. I was worried because my algae levels are high at the minute.

Dont worry its natural.

A bit about feeding:
Plecos are omnivores. They are not picky eaters. In planted aquariums they will eat any food left behind by other fish as well as naturally growing algae in the tank. They have also been known to have a taste for discus mucus. In tanks without live plants, their diet can be supplemented with sinking fish food, usually algae wafers readily available from a pet store.

Although the plecostomus is a known common algae sucker, it requires more than just pellets and tank algae to eat. It should also be fed algae wafers, zucchini, cucumber, lettuces, peas, melon and also any semi-soft fruit or vegetable will do as well. They also can eat shrimp, shrimp pellets and flake fish food.

Hope that help and if you are still worried feel free to PM me at any time!

There is nothing wrong. It's all natural. It sometimes take longer for the "poo" to detach from the body so it seems like it is really long. ;)
