Hi Everyone

I don't know if i'm doing this correctly. I have been trying to use the classified section but cant seem to find the sales form which needs filling in.

Anyway! Today i made a huge mistake and any experienced fish keepers will have heard this plenty of times before.

I have a 60" x 18" x 18" tank with Eheim pro 3 600 filter, it has been set up a month. PH7 Temp 80. All looked good so went to buy a Plec, I thought i'd start by stocking with cleaners and Plecos have always been my favourite fish so went to the local pet shop and actually was looking for a smaller one but this was a nice looking sailfin probably 10 to 12". It didn't look too big in the shop and i told the guy my measurements.

Now it is home it looks silly, it dominates the tank, squashes the plants and doesn't look too happy. I honestly feel guilty now even though i had good intentions and love the fish i dont think it would be fair to keep it.

Ideally someone with a larger tank would like it, sale or swaps.

Any idea's??

Appreciate any help.

can you take it back, just be polite, explain it looks bigger than you thought, and get credit with the shop? they'll be far more willing to give you credit than give you money back.

Hi Speedy Reply

Yer that was my next step actually, tomorrow i will call them.. To be honest i feel a bit of an idiot but your right that is the sensible thing to do.

They had quite a few large Plecos in stock, he did say they rehome a lot of them.

I'd be happy to swap it for a smaller one with them.. Lets see how we go tomorrow..

cheers
