Pleco

Hi all,

Im due to get my Vision 260 pretty soon and after it has cycled etc i really want to get a pleco. I have had a common plec before, a few years ago and i was heartbroken when he passed away.

My question is what would be the best to get for the size of my tank.

Im not really keen on th Bristle nose (the spikes on the nose kind of freak me out), I would like to maybe get 2 smaller plecs so they have a friend so that would probably rule out the common plec

I would love to get a couple of Zebra plecs but they are very pricey and i cant seem to get any in my area (and i belive LFS's cant order them in)

So any advice???

Whats your location?

You could have a group of small plecs.

Thought it was just the males that have the bristles on the nose?
Why not have a female?
These fish are brilliant.

I have a female BN, she is great, just a few bristles , very short in a single line at the top of her mouth. She is less shy than other plecs can be and once settled in she comes out in the day too.

BTW whereabout in the Midlands, I moved from midlands about 13 months ago was in Wolverhampton, I always used Hollybush Aquatics, some find them lacking in knowledge, but if you go in there telling them exactly what you want etc they are usually great. Am back down this weekend and will be popping in there on sunday, I do miss the place, there is nowhere with that selection up here.

I live in Coventry, we have some places that are ok but none of them really know what they are talking about, i usually tell them!!!
