Hi I have just recently bought a gold nugget pleco and I love him to bits, the problem is now I have become addicted and want more plecos! I dont know wether or not I would be able to though....are any plecos compatible with the gold nugget?? I would like a pleco that stays small and is active during the day. I have a four foot tank at the mo....

Okay pleccy fanatic eh? thats cool. The biggest example of a gold nugget ive encoutered was a wild caught fish that is acout fourteen inches from snout to caudal, i doubt very much that a tank fish can reach this size but i would say eight inches a fair assumption? correct me if im wrong guys (i'd like to know)
plecos tend to be easy going and very rarely fight. It may be worth looking into the clown pleco (a small one at eight inces tan/orange with spots) Farlowella twig (elongated twig cat, very peacefull) bulldog pleco (shy retiring pleco, small and compact with grey and black spots on his snout) Zebra peckolita (very nice, balck and white tiny at about six to eight inches tops and very cute, but unfortunately expensive) or maybe a scarlet Pleco (larger tending towards 12 inches, predominantly plack but with a bright red tail and dorsal). look the little fellas up on www.planetcatfish.com good luck :fun:

There are quite a few, as long as they both have a hiding place like a cave or piece of bogwood it is fine. Check out the L numbers on Planet Catfish for some ideas and come back to us. Personally I keep a King Tiger L066 with my Golden Nugget L177. :)

I just bought a Farlowella twig and it was only $5.49 as compared to a spotted pleco for $24.95 and the the twig is alot more interesting to look at. I have a 29 gallon and thinking of getting another one! :D
